When the shipping capacity needs to be increased, a sorter might offer a solution. Products are often shipped in parcels, small or large, but for fashion retailers or e-commerce companies products can also be packed in polybags. Therefore, when selecting a sorter, the full range of items that needs to be covered is an important factor. Item dimensions, weight and characteristics play a large role in the selection of a sorter.

The most flexible sorter for shipping applications with a capacity up to 8.000 products per hour is the LR-sorter. If a higher capacity is needed, the slide tray sorter is a better fit for the job. This sorter enables a sorting capacity of up to 30.000 items per hour. However, if lots of large and heavy items are involved, a shoe, crosstrack, pusher or narrow belt sorter could make a better case.
